Getting ready for the birth of your newborn, or recently had a baby and are considering a professional newborn photoshoot? As a new parent, you are probably looking forward to capturing every moment and milestone of your baby's life. Taking a morning to take part in a beautiful photoshoot that highlights your family and the newborn blessing should be a exciting experience for you. Having the right person capture these moments is just as important.

Here are five top reasons why you should hire a photographer to capture your newborn photos.

1.Professional equipment and expertise - Professional photographers have specialized equipment and expertise in capturing stunning photographs. Each of us learn how to use lighting, composition, and angles to create beautiful, high-quality images. Newborn Photographers also have the right equipment to ensure that the photos are clear and crisp, even in low-light conditions. With their experience and skills, they can capture images that you would never be able to achieve with your smartphone.

2.Safety of your newborn - Newborns are delicate and need to be handled with care. As a Professional photographer it is vital that we are trained in handling and posing newborns in a safe and comfortable manner. The photographer you select should understand the best positions for your baby and have experience in soothing and calming them during the photo session. You can be assured that your baby will be in good hands and that the photographer will prioritize their safety at all times. Personally I have gone through mentorships, as well as hours of training and education on safety practices. Your photographer should too.

3.Timeless memories- Let's be honest, your newborn with grow and change quickly. Hiring a professional photographer to capture those first few weeks will ensure that you have timeless memories of your baby. Professional photographs are not just snapshots; they are works of art that will be treasured for years to come. You will be able to look back at those images and remember the tiny details of your baby's face, hands, and feet. My style of photography is natural and emotive, and my clients love the feeling they have when they look back at their images that reflect their unique family. No session should be the same!

4.Creative and personalized experience - Professional photographers have a unique eye for capturing moments and telling a story through their photos. We create personalized, creative, and unique images that reflect your family's personality and style. From the choice of background and props to the use of colors and lighting, a professional photographer can create a personalized experience that you will cherish. When working with a client I spend time finding out about who they are, and what style they are drawn to. From Modern, to Farmhouse, or Black and White to bright colors, your style should be reflected in the images and products that you receive from your photographer.

5.Worth the investment - Hiring a professional photographer may seem like an added expense, but it is worth the investment. You will have high-quality images that you can print and display in your home, share with family and friends, and cherish for a lifetime. Professional photographs are a tangible and priceless reminder of those precious first few weeks of your baby's life.

Book your newborn session early to ensure that you get the time you want. Clients often book their session early into the third trimester or late in the second to secure the photographer they want. When working with clients I let them know that I only book 5 newborns a month since births can be unpredictable and I want to be ready when your bundle arrive. After booking our session we stay in contact up until the due date of the baby planning the look and feel of the session. When baby arrives, we choose a date in the first 4 weeks, typically. For very sleepy babies, we schedule a date in the first 2 weeks of life, for more alert looks and connection with parents, we schedule the date between 2 and 4 weeks of life. This all depends on the look my families are wanting from their session. Communication is key, and I thrive on learning about my families so I can deliver the best experience.
